Your Tasks and Responsibilities

Our business unit Grid Field Operations Offshore (GFO-O) operates and maintains offshore grid connection systems in the Dutch and German North Sea. The department Execution Area East is the custodian of all Offshore grid connection systems and Interconnectors, which have been handed over into GFO-O custody and care, allocated to East Area (HelWin1-2, BorWin3, SylWin1, NordLink). The department is accountable for the safe & reliable operation, availability, technical quality and budgets of offshore platforms, DC & AC cable infrastructure and land based converter stations as well as operational readiness for new assets.

As the Head Execution Area East (m/f/d) you:

  • are a member of the GFO-O Leadership Team and actively contribute to and co-own strategy developments and its implementation - reporting to the (Associate) Director Grid Field Operations - Offshore
  • are leading a team of 5 team managers and approximately 125 department members, especially motivation, inspiring, coaching and development of people
  • actively contribute to establishing a top class safety culture and an environment in which it is possible for everyone to go home safe every day
  • are managing all activities on prioritization, scheduling, detailed engineering and execution of all preventive & corrective maintenance measures and projects (detailed engineering, tendering & execution) based on maintenance engineering plans and project portfolio of our Project & Maintenance Engineering department
  • are managing all activities on planning and coordination of operational activities to support manned and unmanned operation of the offshore assets (e.g. platform helideck and boat landing operations, crane operations, catering and hotel operations, emergency response, etc)
  • are managing all operations of main and auxiliary systems within safe operating windows, safe isolation of systems and equipment for maintenance/project activities and execution of permit to work system
  • are managing all activities related to the operational and organizational readiness to take-over new project assets into operations based on standards defined by Project & Maintenance Engineering department
  • have the ultimate accountability for asset quality & integrity, availability and operational budgets
  • have all Operator Obligations (Betreiberpflichten) according to German regulations for all operations activities and asset integrity of all assets
  • ensure implementation, implementation control and documentation of all operational requirements (technical and organizational), incl. legal for Offshore Operations

Your Profile

...and you

  • have a bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or comparable
  • have advanced courses or profound experiences in technical management, project management, and/or business administration
  • have experience in leading and managing departments or teams in organisations with a diversity of stakeholders, complex business cases and staff in different locations
  • have experience in sectors like Energy and Technology
  • preferably have experience with Offshore Projects and/or Field Operations & Maintenance
  • preferably have knowledge about German and/or Dutch energy regulation and European renewables market, especially offshore wind industry
  • are a team player contribution to an exceptional team cohesion
  • are an empathetic leader, highly interested to understand your own needs and needs of your team & partners
  • are able to balance leadership and management for the best of your community
  • are a strategic thinker with hands-on mentality, courage, determination and result orientation
  • are dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated and you take responsibility and ownership
  • are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, as well as preferred in one further language, either Dutch or German
  • have a strong willingness to learn and change
  • Optional: medical suitability for offshore operations according to the AWMF standard as well as the suitability for altitude can be examined by our company doctor
